Ever notice the edge on people whenever you go to the store, work or in public. It’s incredible how certain moments of our day can have a snowball affect on its emotional outcome. I was looking at an image on the MSNBC site a few weeks back and there was a man whose life was ending after a series of bank robberies at the hands of authorities on a highway in Illinois. Imagine his day starting perhaps with a kind word. Chances are he bounced out of bed overcome with a certain expectation of his life, which was not being met. Decided to take this all or nothing stance to retrieve sanity from a dire situation and as a result ended up on a highway in Illinois in a body bag. What if a stranger fell into his path with a kind word? A blessing! My point is that every day we encounter people whose souls are snatched by the grips of despair, that a kind word could be a catalyst to a repentive mind and salvation. There is a piece in the bible in Psalm 129: 8. It says this “While those who go by do not say, the blessing of the Lord be upon you! We bless you in the name of the Lord!” It illustrates this point, even though we encounter others who do not offer words of encouragement or blessing doesn’t mean that we can’t bless them. Bless and encourage someone with a kind thought or gesture. There are plenty of discouraging spirits around us continually, but a kind word or blessing destroys its presence and plants seeds for hope and restoration.

When that fire explodes inside your soul to bear witness to God through Jesus Christ it grabs you. Due to the current economic crisis worldwide the fire will be necessary to move souls above the heaviness thats going to be presented as a result.

Help us comes by way of the devestation in the Sudan. In this image I try to present life to an otherwise tragic and reprehensible situation. What a beautiful image coming from the ashes of that country.The warm tones I use in the center of the image are representive of the beauty manifested by the human spirit as it rises back to God in full glory and celebration of His marvellous creation inspite of how tragic the circumstances are.

Presidente found its way to the drawing board by way of an interview President Obama did with 60 Minutes after the November Election. I try to place emphasis on the somewhat curious and inqusitive glance the President gives when asked a question thats not in line with the seriousness of the job. I believe this question had to do with his response to winning the election. This image forms the face of humility,along with confidence, but also concern.

Out of Many One
While watching the victory celebration on election night this phrase entered my mind. As a result this image was born. Originally suggesting that out of many colonies or states emerge a single nation, it has come to suggest that out of many peoples, races, and ancestries has emerged a single people and nation – illustrating the concept of the melting pot.
